I'd say the sequel 28 Weeks Later is even better. The acting was great too, as well as the casting.

In this chilling sequel to 28 Days Later, the inhabitants of the British Isles appear to have lost their battle against the onslaught of disease, as the deadly rage virus has killed every citizen there. This movie was engaging, immersive, and had a great deal of world and plot integrity. Four weeks after a mysterious, incurable virus spreads throughout the UK, a handful of survivors seek sanctuary within the resulting zombie apocalypse. Fresnadillo ups the gore quotient and shows a penchant for showoff editing and strobe lighting that Boyle avoided. This one was a breath of fresh air compared to all of the sub-par, badly written movies, which make up most of whats out there. When the attacks start again, Don (Robert Carlyle, he of the mad Trainspotting glint) ) scrams out the window leaving his wife (Catherine McCormack) to serve as a cannibal snack. He picks up where Boyle left off, showing a few survivors seeking shelter in a farmhouse from a zombie plague that damn near depopulated England. Taking over for Boyle as director and co-writer is Spain’s Juan Carlos Fresnadillo, who scored big in the horror lottery with Intacto.
